High of 82 degrees in Michigan tomorrow? Hello, Summer in May! Time to fire up the grill and take the party outdoors. High of 82 degrees in Michigan tomorrow? Hello, Summer in May! Time to fire up the grill and take the party outdoors. What to do for entertainment? You could dig out that old badminton net that's been balled up since the Clinton administration. Or, you could do something a little more unconventional: Create your own Outdoor Twister!

Katie Haines, of the blog You + Me, did that very thing for a picnic in celebration of her husband's birthday. She spray painted rows of colored circles onto the grass and presto: A homespun version of "The game that ties you up in knots!" Anyone can bark out orders like, "Left Leg: Red!" to get things going -- no spinner or mat necessary.

So simple. And seriously, after a few margaritas, who doesn't love a lawn game that puts you in wildly inappropriate positions?
