It's your world, only better. And by "better" we mean viewed through a mobiles device screen and filled with robots.
Paparazzi
In short: You're stalking a tiny sociopathic celeb. Print out the marker sheet or take a $1 bill, lay it on a flat surface, and point your camera at it. On your screen you'll see a tiny CG man (no Lohan) appear on top of the paper. Snap as many pics as you can before he jumps at you and tries to smash your camera.
WIRED Shake your phones to fend off attacks.
TIRED Mini-celeb sometimes blinks out of existence, forcing you to recalibrate.

Piclings
The base game is a Mario-style platformer that has you zipping around, gathering coins, and dodging foes. But the real selling point of Piclings is that it lets you take any image on your device and turn it into a level. Take a picture of the Wired.com homepage and you're immediately jumping from headline to headline and snagging power-ups from the site logo.
WIRED Solid, consistent underlying mechanics.
TIRED Hard to predict which photos will make the most interesting play.

DroidShooting
Love 'em or hate 'em, those tiny androids mascots are fun as hell to shoot at. Crosshairs pop up on your phones's camera display, along with a point counter that rewards you for blasting the itty-bitty green robots as they appear on an image of your real surroundings.
WIRED Radar screen lets you see when the little SOBs are sneaking up behind you.
TIRED Droids sometimes get stuck in your peripheral space, and you can't shoot them no matter how much you pirouette.

Zombies, Run!
Take the rote out of your route by jogging through a zombie apocalypse. The app interrupts your playlist with commands from base to pick up supplies, which you do by hitting certain time targets. Outrun zombie hordes with prescribed bursts of speed. Use the supplies you picked up to fortify your base in-app.
WIRED It's all in the headphoness; no need to check your screen during runs. Brains!
TIRED Limited fitness tracking. Occasionally muddy audio.

ARBasketball
It's more a parlor trick than a game, but it's a great parlor trick. Print out the required marker symbol and lay it flat, then point your device's camera at it. The game superimposes a virtual basketball hoop on the marker. Toss the ball by pulling back on a slider and letting go; aim by moving your phones.
WIRED Realistic physics have you on tenterhooks as the ball dances around the rim.
TIRED A bit simplistic.
