Eric Andre and Hannibal Buress Talk New Season on Adult Swim
Released on 10/02/2013
(soft piano music)
Hey, Peter Rubin, senior editor of Wired here with
from across the stage, to your right, Eric Andre,
host of the Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim,
Hannibal Buress, stand-up phenomenon in his own right,
television writer and also collaborator on
Eric Andre Show.
And Derrick Beckles, of the upcoming late night
companion show to the Eric Andre Show, Hot Package.
Is that correct?
That is correct.
(applauding)
You have, well let's applaud that. I want to start.
I'm sure you're aware of the shoes of weirdness you're gonna
have to fill coming after the Eric Andre Show.
[Eric] Shoes of Weirdness,
that's the third show on after Hot Package!
Do you guys and The Heart She Holler have like
a softball league where you compete to be the weirdest
live action show on Adult Swim?
I don't think we're the weirdest, I think there's some
weird (bleep) on that.
You said weirdest live action.
Weirdest live action. Yeah, I tried to qualify it
a little.
Children's Hospital gets really weird.
That's true. Before we get to the new season of
Eric Andre Show, tell us a little bit about Hot Package,
because this is the newcomer to Adult Swim's
late night block, correct?
Yeah, I'm excited about it. It's an entertainment show.
Basically I'm doing an Entertainment Tonight type show
in the vibe of Extra and E Hollywood
and Access Hollywood, and all that (bleep).
But we're kind of doing a parallel universe thing,
so pretty much nobody in the show that you'll ever see
will know anything about, but we completely hype them
as major stars, we're gonna be using a lot of clips
from movies you've never seen essentially,
and those are in our universe, the big box office smashes.
And in between that we have a lot of really interesting
interviews with weirdos and things like that.
And it's just packaged like it's Entertainment Tonight,
so, I think it'll be awesome.
What do we have to look forward to for Season Two,
of your show, my friend?
A lot of good guests. There's Vivica Fox.
[Peter] What? Mel B,
[Peter] from Spice Girls. Are you serious?
[Eric] Yep. Questlove.
[Eric] T-Pain. T-Pain.
[Eric] Curren$y. What's this,
What're you talking about, what show is this?
[Eric] Dominic Monaghan. The show is in HD
this season, so it looks way better.
And when's it starting up?
October 10th, possibly.
Possibly? No, October.
Just October? Just October.
Just all of October it's starting.
October 10th.
Do you guys, I don't know if you've heard about this,
we had this robot downstairs that was asking about,
I mean apparently it's a big fan of the show,
and kind of wanted to meet you guys. Would you be into that?
That is impossible.
I'll kick that robot's ass. Yeah.
Can it fight? I don't know.
I don't know if it's programmed for that.
We can go find out. I'll kick that robot's ass.
Alright, it's gonna be Hannibal versus the Robot.
What's hot? What's trending with electronics these days?
Yeah, what's going on? Let's talk.
What's going on within the Wired universe?
I'm not one of the technology guys.
[All] Oh. Ah Wow.
So I feel that I'm letting you down by saying ...
[All] Boo. Oh. Boo. No.
Make something up or we're walking.
Okay, we got people coming in--
What? No, No, No, No, No, No, No.
What, no! We have nowhere to go! We have nothing to do!
Please no, please no. We need more footage.
I'm happy with this.
(laughter)
Wired, I'm Peter Rubin, thanks to Eric, and Hannibal,
and Derrick for coming through.
And then poof! And then we all disappear.
